2010 Small Business Procurement Data Shows Significant Progress toward 23 Percent Federal Contracting Goal

WASHINGTON – The federal government awarded nearly $100 billion in federal contracts to small businesses in Fiscal Year (FY) 2010, showing an increase in federal prime contract dollars to small businesses for the second straight year after four years of decline.


IMPORTANT NOTICE: TO: SALES TAX RETURN BOOKLET FILERS

Sales Tax permits are expected to be mailed by July 1, 2011. However, you will receive temporary Sales and Use Tax returns instead of the usual Sales and Use Tax return booklet. Electronic filers do not receive a booklet, but will receive a Sales Tax permit.


State of Rhode Island - Department of Labor & Training Layoff Aversion / Business Retention Incumbent Worker Training

The purpose of the incumbent worker training program is to increase the skills of the incumbent workforce. As a result of improving this capacity, the business applicant must indicate how the training will avert a pending layoff, mitigate a pending layoff or support business retention.

DISASTER AID TO RHODE ISLAND RESIDENTS TOPS $36 MILLION

 

WARWICK, R. I. – More than $36 million in grants and loans have been approved for residents of Rhode Island who are following the recommended steps for obtaining disaster assistance from the federal government, the Federal Emergency Management Agency announced today.
