Rhode Island Economic Development Corporation (RIEDC)
The Rhode Island Economic Development Corporation (RIEDC) mission is to strengthen the Rhode Island economy through policies, programs, and projects, which enhance and enrich the business environment for public and private sectors in order to create prosperity for all Rhode Islanders.
RIEDC's experienced staff provides assistance in the following business development areas:
1. Finance programs - RIEDC can partner with private and public partners to provide financing to businesses through both direct and indirect lending. A key resource is the Revolving Load Fund which lends up to $250,000 to eligible businesses.
2. Employee Training - RIEDC provides grants for new employee training to growing businesses and works with partners to provide training tax credits to eligible businesses. Matching grants can be up to $5,000 per employee.
3. Site Selection - RIEDC works with businesses on site search for relocation and expansion purposes.
4. Urban Business - RIEDC uses a variety of tools to assist urban businesses including: a revolving loan fund ($10,000 - $150,000) to eligible businesses.
5. Government Contracting - RIEDC assists businesses with procedures and bid matching to obtain government contracts.
6. Trade Services - RIEDC assists businesses with entry into international markets, customized management training grants and facilitation of trade missions and trade show participation.
